My favorite 'Pont parisien'

Pont Alexandre 111
This has to be my favorite bridge in Paris..linking the right bank's  8th arrondissement, Champs Elysees, to the left bank's 7th arrondissement,  the Faubourg Saint Germain district. It is so beautifully ornate, with its gorgeous art deco lamps, and the four 17 metre high pillars topped with the amazing gilded statues. Each statue is named and represents a specific time in France's rich history.

As beautiful as the bridge is during the day, it is at night time when it shines in all its glory :) take a look here......

You could say that it comes with quite a view....n'est-ce pas?

Yes, a great choice of bridge for strolling lovers and tourists alike..well why not? ..it's been the backdrop to many a film, including the recent romantic Midnight in Paris, (I just loved this movie!)

When crossing this beauty  from the right bank  to the left bank,  keep walking and you will run straight into L'Hotel National des Invalides...an awesome building..oh yes..and the resting place of Monsieur Bonaparte. Don't do what I did..take too many fluids on the Champs Elyees,  and  skip the tomb for a loo! Such disrespect!

Hope you enjoyed, peep through the window again...

A bientôt Gigi :)
