French windows / Les fenêtres françaises

Who's interested in doing a quick ' french window' tour around France today?  Pourquoi pas you say? (why not), ...Ok.....let's go!

google images.   I want this!

Not so many flowers in windows here, as they rely on the art of the wrought iron....gorgeous!

Loving the reflexion :)

Big big big by the sea....................

Imagine waking up to this on first day of holidays.....sigh....:)

trip advisor. Hotel Les Randonneurs

And of course.................Paris!

J'adore window!

google images.

A mellow yellow 'petite dejeuner' would hardly want to leave here :)

but you would :)

So which windows do you prefer?
Lots of wrought iron?
Lots of flowers?
or lots of both???!!  (moi moi moi!!!)

A bientôt,  Gigi

Blue and White / Bleu et Blanc

I'm feeling a bit blue today....

blue and white that is :)

I have mentioned  here how much I love these two colors, so I

thought why not do a quick blue and white photo shoot 'chez moi'

Let's start outside

I think I have had these coasters since the tower was first built!

Some cushion love of course.................

The odd tablecloth or two.......

For morning tea.....will that be coffee??

or tea...........????

What proud, self loving flour or rice wouldn't want to have these for a home??

Let's prepare for nibbles, no happy hour is complete without some blue and white..non?

Although, at this point I'm feeling a little blue and white OVERLOAD!!!!  Anyway...shall continue!

Hydrangeas...I can't grow them these are a little bit...umm...'faux'...but oh so pretty!

No, truly, this  has been exhausting...I best just go lie down...;)

 A bientôt, Gigi :)

A french rendez-vous / Un rendez-vous francais.

I  always look forward to Wednesday's a  'meet up'  of fellow francophones at a local cafe near the beach, just for an hour or two.

Sun's up at our place ..looking like a perfect morning for a coffee and french chat!

So, I grab my keys. ........

Yes, its an Eiffel Tower..who would have thought :)

and head to the Pacific ocean..or nearly. Just in time for coffee.  We normally have the lovely french Adeline bring us our orders, which is a true bonus!

Woops!! A little spillage there! But tastes good :)

Sometimes there are 5 or 6 of us, and sometimes there may only be two, but there is always french conversation to be had.......

Meet Jan (left) and daughter Julia. Lots to learn from these two. Jan has studied the language since school (with a  little break in there somewhere) and also spent 2 months at a language school in France in 2006 with her hubby! Quelle aventure!!!  It seems as if they have turned into  french boaties,  having  had several wonderful holidays, winding their way through  the rivers of France.  As for Julia, well she was fortunate enough  to have spent a year in France as an exchange student, and travels there quite regularly, which is probably why her french is so so good!

Another  'wonder' of our group is the talented Anne. A great source of information on ..lots of things!! She puts it down to her past work in research  :)  Anne's french is great, and is a talented artist as well! ..Yes.. she enjoys the language..but she is absolutely passionate about...Tasmanian Devils!
Just look at Anne's work below...she is so clever!!

and I just love the colors in this.....

I'm thinking that the above painting is an interpretation of Burleigh beach  below....

The Pacific Ocean  is simply  sparkling this morning :)

But as all good things must come to an end,  its time to go home, switch back into the Australian way....but not for's Alliance Francaise day tomorrow!

If you learn or speak french,  what extra steps do you take to immerse yourself in the language?  Do you watch the french news on TV, read french books, take in a french film?

Or do you go for broke, and just pack your bags?????

ppssst..........take out the will have more room!

Have a fabulous frenchy week!

A bientôt,  Gigi
